Entry price and sales motion
Media Shuttle's lowest published tier starts at $13,000 a year and begins with a specialist-led proof of concept. RIPTON CLOUD publishes every plan from $0 and lets a team evaluate on its own files first.
RIPTON CLOUD vs Signiant Media Shuttle
Signiant is the established name in media and entertainment file movement, with Media Shuttle for person-to-person delivery and Jet for automated flows. RIPTON CLOUD covers the same sending, receiving and automation needs at a price point that a post house or a small studio can start on without a sales cycle.
Competitor facts are taken from Signiant's public pages, retrieved 2026-09-13, and linked below. No speed multiple against Signiant Media Shuttle is claimed; RIPTON CLOUD's figures are against a TCP baseline in a published test.
About Signiant Media Shuttle
Signiant sells a SaaS platform (Media Shuttle, Jet, Flight Deck, Media Engine) used across studios, broadcasters and sports. Its entry point is a sales-assisted proof of concept, and Media Shuttle's published tiers start in the five figures per year.
Published facts only. Where a vendor does not publish something, the table says so.
| Criterion | Signiant Media Shuttle | RIPTON CLOUD |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Media Shuttle Professional 'starting at $13,000 a year', Enterprise 'starting at $25,000 a year', Small Business by quote; other products by quote. | Published: Free $0; Starter $99/mo; Professional $499/mo; Business $1,499/mo; Enterprise from $2,500/mo. Annual plans include two months free. |
| Free tier or trial | Trial by form; a specialist sets up a proof of concept. | Free plan: 3 named users, 1 Shared Inbox, 25 GB transfer a month, 10 GB per file. |
| External recipients | Portal users and recipients are part of the plan's user model. | External recipients and guest uploaders never use a seat and are never charged. |
| Deployment | SaaS control plane with storage independence (your storage, Signiant-managed transfer). | Your own licensed transfer nodes (cloud or on-premises) with a hosted control plane; RIPTON Desktop for macOS, Windows and Linux; browser transfers through Web Edge. |
| Transfer protocol | Signiant's proprietary acceleration. | RIPT: UDP-based, rate-controlled, block-level retransmission; TCP is used only for control traffic. |
| Encryption and trust | Security page; TPN Gold and SOC 2 stated; trust centre. | Mandatory AES-256-GCM or ChaCha20-Poly1305 with a forward-secret key per session; replay protection per subflow; there is no plaintext mode. |
| Many small files | Supported across products. | Directories are packaged as one bundle, so file count does not add per-file round trips; published test: 100,000 x 512 B files in 0.98 s vs 2 min 52 s over TCP at 150 ms and 3% loss. |
| Automation | Jet and Flight Deck for automated flows; APIs. | REST API, CLI, scheduler, watch folders and webhooks from Professional; SAML SSO, roles and full audit from Professional; SCIM on Business. |
| Performance evidence | Customer statements and platform statistics. | Reproducible benchmarks with the environment, commands and network conditions published; cryptographic design summary available for review. |

Signiant operates the transfer service in front of your storage. RIPTON CLOUD nodes are licensed to you and sit where your storage is; the hosted control plane only authorises and records.
RIPTON CLOUD publishes benchmark conditions and commands so a buyer can reproduce them; the evaluation runs on the buyer's own route.
FAQ
Not natively. Each side needs the same product on the route. Partners who receive from you use a browser link and need no software or seat.
We do not claim a multiple against Signiant. Our published numbers are against a TCP baseline; a side-by-side on your route is the only fair answer, and we will help you run one.
Not yet. What exists today is a documented cryptographic design, mandatory encryption and audit-grade logs. Certifications will be listed on the security page when obtained.
